Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC)
Addiction Counselor
Forty (40) ADAD Approved Continuing Education Hours, six (6) of which are required to be in SUD Ethics, and six (6) of which are required to be in cultural awareness. Initial - 300 credits 270 must be SUD specific. A minimum of six (6) hours of education is required three areas:
- Substance Use Disorder Ethics,
- Title 42 Code of Federal Regulations, part 2 and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)
- Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS).

Sixteen (16) ADAD Approved Continuing Education Hours, six (6) of which are required to be in SUD Ethics, and six (6) of which are required to be in cultural awareness.
Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP)

Forty (40) ADAD Approved Continuing Education Hours, six (6) of which are required to be in SUD Ethics, and six (6) of which are required to be in cultural awareness. Initial - 270 hours of education specific to the domains listed above including 6 hours in criminal justice ethics. 270 hours specific to the domains with a high school diploma; 200 hours with an associate’s degree in behavioral science; 150 hours with a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) credential; 100 hours with a master’s degree in behavioral science or Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) credential.

Fifty-four hours must be prevention specific education, plus, six hours must be specific to prevention ethics (only)
