About the Course

Grief following suicide has its own unique set of complications. As facilitators for groups and camps supporting youth and families, we are entrusted with the establishment and maintenance of a healing experience. This presentation illuminates the challenges faced by those bereaved by suicide and further prepares leaders to facilitate supportive groups and camps following suicide loss.

This workshop will focus on practical considerations to enhance group facilitation. Helpful responses to challenging behaviors will be outlined. Integrating over 35 cumulative years of personal and professional experience, the presenters will illustrate practical strategies to assist meaning making and the re-installation of hope.

This course is based on the recorded webinar, Rooted in Hope: Grief Support Following Suicide Loss created by Tina Barrett EdD, LCPC et al in 2016.
