About the Course

Males represent a significant minority of individuals with eating disorders (EDs), yet there is little research to inform assessment and treatment in this population. Furthermore, the existing research on males with EDs has been limited by several factors, leaving clinicians with few clear guidelines when evaluating symptomatology in this population. Therefore this article aimed to assess the scores of males enrolled in a residential or partial hospital eating disorder treatment program on commonly used measures of eating disorder psychopathology and to compare these males’ scores to those of females enrolled in the same program.

This course is based on the reading online article, Male Clinical Norms and Sex Differences on the Eating Disorder Inventory (EDI) and Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire (EDE-Q) created by Kathryn E. Smith, PhD in 2017.
