About the Course

This course is ONLY approved for Psychologists in the state of Tennessee. An updated version is available at course 103733

This course addresses the requirement that licensed psychologists in Tennessee review and abide by the following: 2020 Tennessee Code Title 63, Chapter 11 (Parts 1 and 2) and Rules & Regulations of the State of Tennessee Title 1180 – Board of Examiners in Psychology. This course does not include the professional ethics component that is required by state law. Please view the courses in our ethics category for this part of the requirement.

This course is based on the Tennessee State Code Rules and Regulations Related to the Practice of Psychology created by State of Tennessee in 2020 and 2021.

  3. 3 Describe the rules and regulations of the State of Tennessee Title 1180: Board of Examiners in Psychology.
  4. 4 Discuss the scope of practice for psychologists, psychological examiners, senior psychological examiners, and certified psychological assistants.
  5. 5 Describe and discuss the general provisions regarding the practice of psychology in Tennessee, including, but not limited to, levels of practice, privileged communications, and restrictions on methods of treatment.
