About the Event

Therapeutic boundaries define the roles and limitations of the relationship between therapist and client. Therapists often struggle with maintaining clear professional boundaries, particularly when navigating dual relationships, bartering, countertransference, and the complexities of telehealth. Primary areas of concern include dual relationships both sexual and non sexual, setting and managing professional boundaries, the risks of bartering, delayed discovery in multiple relationships, and managing counter transference reactions. These challenges arise from evolving ethical standards, the increasing use of virtual therapy, and the potential for delayed awareness of boundary violations in multiple relationships.

This course will equip learners with strategies to establish and uphold professional boundaries, recognize and mitigate ethical risks, and apply updated ethics codes to both in-person and telehealth settings. Literature updates, expert opinion, and relevant ethics codes will be discussed.
