About the Course

This course is based on a National Science Foundation report designed to determine how best to improve education in the social and behavioral sciences. The purpose of this course is to review suggestions offered on specific ways to develop a strategic plan for education and training in the social and behavioral sciences, from early childhood through post-doctoral years. Included are plans designed to enhance existing NSF programs, provide new opportunities and initiatives, and immediate steps that can be taken to improve overall social and behavioral sciences education.

  4. 4 Become familiar with ways in which diversity can be fostered in education in the SBE sciences.
  5. 5 Identify "cross-cutting" themes presented throughout the course regarding pathways to advancing SBE science education.
