Learning Objectives

After taking this course, you should be able to:

  1. 1 Articulate the definitions of crisis and trauma and explain how the two are differentiated.
  2. 2 Identify and understand specific intervention strategies for several types of crises such as those involved in hospitalizing individuals, assessing risk of dangerousness, and intervening in domestic violence and/or abuse and neglect of children.
  3. 3 Learn the basic principles of assessing and treating trauma in various kinds of situations, including sexual assault, disaster, and trauma in the workplace.
