About the Course

No known instrument captures the social and emotional experiences of loss for peer-based children's bereavement support programs. Standard practices for developing scales were followed, resulting in the creation of the Child Social Emotional Scale of Loss (CSESL). Two phases of the research study followed the creation of the CSESL, the first being a pilot test to determine the reliability and validity of the instrument. The second phase of testing consisted of a pre/post research design of campers who attended overnight bereavement camps at weeklong overnight camps in August 2013. This webinar will focus on data analysis and how it informed an upcoming research study to test the validity and reliability of the Inventory of Youth Adaptation to Loss (IYAL), which has replaced the CSESL. Children's Bereavement Programs across the USA are invited to participate in this upcoming research study, a one-time administration.

This course is based on the recorded webinar, 2013 Camp Results of the Child Social Emotional Scale of Loss CSESL and Next Steps created by Jennifer Kaplan Schreiber, LICSW, FT
