About the Course

Bipolar I disorder is a mental health disorder consisting of more than just two distinct poles. Specifically, between the extremes of mania and depression, individuals can also experience mixed states in which various manic and depressive symptoms are present simultaneously. Symptoms common between both depression and mania include anxiety, irritability, and agitation (AIA). This manuscript focuses on a post-hoc study examining whether the presence of AIA symptoms are predictive of depression and/or prognosis.

This course is based on the article, Anxiety, Irritability, and Agitation as Indicators of Bipolar Mania with Depressive Symptoms: a post hoc analysis of two clinical trials created by Trisha Suppes, MD, PhD, et al. in 2017.
