The Effectiveness and Cost of Clinical Supervision for Motivational Interviewing: A Randomized Controlled Trial

About the Course

Although clinical supervision is important for clinical education and clinical implementation in services, little empirical attention has been given to the effectiveness of supervision on improvement of client outcomes. This is a quantitative study comparing two types of supervision for clinicians using motivational interviewing strategies. The discussion of the results of this study include recommendations for improving supervision quality and the rising cost of supervision for the organization.

This course is based on the article, The Effectiveness and Cost of Clinical Supervision for Motivational Interviewing: A Randomized Controlled Trial created by Steve Martino, PhD et al in September of 2016.
