About the Course

Want to know if mobile health techniques (mHealth) can improve the treatment for patients with eating disorders? Although mHealth techniques are extremely popular, researchers do not yet know if mobile technologies can actually support treatment. The current course aims to assess the clinical efficacy of a combined intervention that includes an mHealth intervention, called TCApp, plus standard face-to-face cognitive behavioural therapy for patients with eating disorders. The findings of this study provide an important advance in the treatment of patients with eating disorders by showing mHealth interventions as complementary tools to regular treatment that may reduce costs and time burden associated with weekly visits of patients to the hospitals.

This course is based on the reading online article, An MHealth Intervention for the Treatment of Patients With an Eating Disorder: A Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial created by Dimitra Tatiana Anastasiadou, PhD et al in 2020.
