About the Course

Resistance to change often occurs due to fear of the unknown, fear of failure (perhaps due to previous experience), or fear of instability. Even our most motivated patients can seem stuck and actionless. Our response can facilitate or stall their progress. Understanding that motivation is a malleable state of being and that various strategies can help clients address roadblocks to change will bring hope to these challenges. Example scenarios will highlight these strategies.

This course is based on the recorded webinar, Using Motivational Interviewing to Help Clients Gain Confidence and Overcome Fear of Change created by Angela Wood in 2024.
