About the Event

Adverse neural tension is a common problem that can have debilitating effects including pain, tingling, numbness, and impaired mobility. For clinicians it can be challenging because of the myriad of symptoms patients can present with. Neurofascial and myofascial systems require proper blood flow, mobility, and enough room to function normally. Inflammatory processes related to overuse, trauma and myofascial tension limit the ability of the nerves to freely slide and glide as the body performs functional movements, resulting in pain, abnormal sensations, and disability.

In this live interactive webinar, we’ll explore the common mechanisms contributing to nerve compression to help zero-in on the root cause. We’ll also cover the difference between simple adverse neural tension and neurodynamics approaches to managing mobility impairments involving nerves.

Learn specific tools you can use to identify neural entrapment and utilize targeted treatments to restore nerve mobility and circulation. Create effective home programs and treatment plans to manage mobility impairments related to the most common adverse neural tension conditions. This course is designed for immediate application in your clinic to help your patients move again and get them back to doing the activities they love.

Live Event This is a live online event. It will be conducted via Zoom Webinar.

Learning Objectives

After taking this activity, you should be able to:

  1. 1 Describe the neurodynamic approach to adverse neural tension impairments of the lower extremity.
  2. 2 Conduct an assessment of neural mobility of the LE to identify adverse neural tension impairments.
  3. 3 Perform neurodynamic mobilization interventions to address abnormal tension for sciatic, obturator, femoral , tibial and saphenous nerves using manual or instrument-assisted myofascial release/soft tissue mobilization and neural stretches.
  4. 4 Design a home program of exercise to manage adverse neural tension.
  5. 5 Discuss the evidence for the effectiveness of neurodynamics for management of adverse neural tension conditions of the lower extremity.
