About the Event

Supporting yourself after a significant loss while continuing to care for clients can be challenging for many clinicians. Developing greater awareness, practical strategies, and effective coping tools can help clinicians navigate their own grief while maintaining ethical and therapeutic client care.

This training explores the complex topic of self-disclosure, including when, whether, and how to disclose personal grief experiences in clinical practice. Participants will examine the potential benefits and risks of self-disclosure, develop individualized plans for navigating grief-related situations in session, and explore professional boundaries that support a sustainable return to work following a loss.

Drawing from Compassion Focused Therapy and trauma-informed principles, participants will learn grounding techniques, coping strategies, and self-care practices that can be utilized before, during, and after client sessions. This training is designed to increase awareness, build confidence, and support clinicians who are grieving while continuing to serve their clients.

Live Event
This live online event will be held as a Zoom Webinar. Attendees will have the option to interact through features such as the Chat and Q&A, but cameras and microphones will not be enabled.
