Approval for Addiction Counselors in New York

New York Education Department Board of Psychologists CE Information

CE Requirements 36 CE credit hours every 3 years
36 may be earned with Impact CE.

Starting January 1, 2021, in order to register and practice the profession, each psychologist, licensed under the Education Law, must complete 36 hours of CE from a Department approved provider during each triennial registration period. No more than 12 hours of continuing education activities in any 36 month period, or one-third of the total hours in periods of other length, may consist of self-study educational activities from New York State Education Department approved providers.

Impact CE offers both self-paced and live courses. 12 hours can be self-paced, 24 must be live.
