About the Course

This course is based on a report that presents estimates of the prevalence and treatment of serious mental illness(SMI) and of co-occurring disorders in adults ages 18 and above. The data presented are from the 2002 National Survey on Drug Use and Health. Several major research questions are addressed in this report pertaining to the seriously mentally ill and substance abusers with serious mental illnesses. Socioeconomic and demographic characteristics of the adults studies are also examined at some length in this course.
