About the Course

Past research has shown differences between the rates of eating disorders between two groups—sexual/gender minority individuals and cisgender heterosexual individuals. This quantitative research study aims to test hypotheses regarding presenting rates of trauma/abuse between the two groups, the severity of eating disorder symptoms between the two groups, and response to eating disorder treatment between the two groups.

Janell Mensinger, PhD is a quantitative health psychologist and teaches theories of measurement, statistics, and an eating disorders course to students in the Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology. She conducts research in eating disorders treatment and prevention and the health consequences of weight stigma. She has more than 70 articles published in peer reviewed journals..

Granche works as a biostatistical consultant for Drexel's Biostatistics Service Center (BSC). The BSC works with health researchers across Drexel University and other academic health centers, pharmaceutical companies, medical research organizations, and managed care organizations.

Paul Pawlicki, PsyD, received his degree in clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL, in 2005. From 2004-2006, he taught courses in general psychology, abnormal psychology, and human sexuality at Collin College in Plano, TX. He currently practices individual therapy at the Department of Sexual Medicine at Park Nicollet Health Health Services near Minneapolis, MN.
