About the Course

This training will provide participants a learning opportunity to move forward with an understanding of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and how it intersects with Trauma-Informed Care. Most have had training and learning opportunities in “Cultural Competence,” however, there continue to be struggles and confusion in finding the best ways to connect and treat our diverse client populations. Additionally, trauma intersects in a variety of unique ways with diverse backgrounds. A Trauma-Informed Framework can serve to acknowledge the impact of inequity and respond to the unique needs for people of diverse populations. This training will provide an overview of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and how these constructs are integral to Trauma-Informed Care. Strategies to serve clients as well as care for the provider will be included.

This course is based on the recorded webinar, A Trauma-Informed Approach to Moving Beyond Cultural Competence to Cultural Intelligence created by Brandon Jones, M.A., CPPM in 2022.
