About the Course

This course covers Parts I and II (Chapters 1 through 9) of Creative Interventions with Traumatized Children, Second Edition by Guilford Press. The book introduces a variety of trauma-informed therapeutic approaches and strategies that mental health practitioners can use to support children recovering from diverse traumatic events, such as parental loss, child abuse, family violence, bullying, and mass trauma. Expanded content in the second edition includes new information on the neurobiological basis of trauma responses and the effectiveness of creative therapeutic approaches.   5. 5 Compute and discuss additional approaches and strategies that are covered in Part II of this book, including art therapy, music therapy, play/sandtray therapy, movement therapy, and body maps.
