About This Approval

Preliminary Eligibility:
• Are at least 18 years of age
• Have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
• Identify as a person in recovery from a mental health condition
• Have been in recovery for a minimum of 1 year
A: The certification process includes:
• Completing KCPS Level 1 Training on the LearnWorlds platform.
• Submitting the KCPS In Training (KCPST) Application Form.
• Being approved as a KCPST
• Working for a minimum of 90 days under the supervision of a qualified professional,
demonstrating the core competencies of Peer Support.
• Registering for KCPS Level 2 Training.
• Completing KCPS Level 2 Training.
• Submitting the Final Certification Application.
• Being approved as a KCPS.
We do NOT offer initial certification.
