About the Course

The problem of human trafficking has gained increased recognition by policy makers. In response, health care professionals need to equip themselves with information, tools and resources to address the needs of victims of human trafficking that they may encounter in practice. This training will familiarize health care professionals (psychologists, social workers, counselors, nurses, PT's & OT's, massage therapists, etc...) with the issue of human trafficking. Attendees will learn about various aspects of this social problem including the legal definitions of human trafficking, types of trafficking, scope of this problem, risk factors, identifying victims in practice settings, and available resources and services for victims of human trafficking.

This course is based on the recorded webinar, Human Trafficking created by Smitta Ekka Dewan in 2023.
