Alexander Dufort is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Psychiatry & Behavioral Neurosciences at McMaster University. He has had multiple works published in peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Samaan is an affiliate Professor at McMaster University, and a Professor and the Head of the department of Psychiatry at Queen’s University. Her research interests focus on mood and substance use disorders, as well as risk factors and intervention for suicidal behaviour. She has published over 150 manuscripts and received research funding from national and international agencies. She has also served as a committee member, scientific officer, and external reviewer for local, national, and international funding bodies.

Hana Kuc is a Licensed Mental Heath counselor and a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor who has been working in the field for 13 years. In that time she has worked as a counselor, therapist, educator and director. Hana has specialized in working with clients on medication assisted treatment, who are in recovery from opiates, and are also diagnosed with a mental health disorder.

Target Audience

Counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychologists and social workers. This course is appropriate for all levels of knowledge.

After taking this course, you should be able to:

  2. 2 List available medication assisted treatment options and their benefits and contraindications.
