About the Event

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a flexible, process-based approach to psychological intervention with a growing evidence base for a wide range of clinical concerns. While many clinicians are drawn to its integrative, values-oriented framework, others find its terminology and philosophical roots challenging to translate into practice. Even experienced therapists can sometimes feel uncertain about how to incorporate ACT techniques into their established models of care.

This webinar, led by psychologist and Recognized ACT Trainer D.J. Moran, Ph.D., BCBA-D, offers a clear and practical introduction to ACT. Emphasizing conceptual clarity and clinical utility, the training is designed for professionals looking to either deepen or begin their use of ACT strategies. Through didactic presentation, experiential exercises, and applied case examples, participants will develop a working understanding of ACT’s six core processes and how they relate to common therapeutic challenges.

Topics covered will include the conceptual foundations of psychological flexibility; applying acceptance-based strategies in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and anger; and integrating ACT with other evidence-based modalities.

Designed to be both accessible and clinically relevant, this workshop supports therapists in enhancing their therapeutic flexibility and delivering care that is process-driven, evidence-informed, and personally meaningful to clients.

Live Event
This live online event will be held as a Zoom Webinar. Attendees will have the option to interact through features such as the Chat and Q&A, but cameras and microphones will not be enabled.

Daniel J Moran, Ph.D., BCBA-D

Daniel J. Moran, Ph.D., BCBA-D I’d prefer my biography to reflect the most vital and meaningful things in my life, so I should prioritize writing about my family, friends, and love for heavy metal. Alas, this is a professional biography, so it is more appropriate to focus on the fact that I am the founder of Pickslyde Consulting, an organization aimed at using evidence-based applications to improve leadership, performance, safety, and wellness in the workplace. In addition, I am an associate professor for Touro University's Doctor of Psychology program in New York City.

I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical & School Psychology from Hofstra in 1998 under the supervision of Kurt Salzinger and Richard O’Brien, and I am past-president of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science. The Association for Behavior Analysis International gave me the Outstanding Mentor Award in 2014. I have several publications applying Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and behavioral science to clinical issues, leadership, and behavioral health, and appeared on The Learning Channel, Animal Planet, and The Oprah Winfrey Network discussing anxiety disorders and hoarding. I am also a Recognized ACTrainer and Board Certified Behavior Analyst… and have I mentioned that I love my family, friends, and heavy metal?
