About the Event

Neuroplasticity (also known as neural plasticity or brain plasticity) refers to the human brain’s ability to adapt to change and reorganize structures and processes in response to external and internal stimuli. The stimuli might be something positive, such as a new job, a budding relationship, or learning a new language. Or, the stimulus might be more of a challenge, such as adapting to a new wellness routine, confronting addictive behavior, or dealing with injuries resulting from an accident.

Leading research shows that massage therapy can make all the difference when it comes to helping our clients address physical neuroplasticity challenges, such as injury recovery. But, it can also be highly beneficial for clients dealing with emotional, mental, or environmental neuroplasticity challenges. In fact, it can be a deciding factor in helping a client achieve a favorable outcome.

The Mind/Body Connection: Neuroplasticity & Massage will explore the intersection between the fields of neuroplasticity and massage therapy. Students will review research and case studies that examine how massage therapy can assist with injury recovery and alleviate quality of life issues for clients dealing with significant life changes. Students will also learn specialized massage techniques that can be utilized within their massage practice.

Live Event This is a live online event. It will be conducted via Zoom Webinar.
