Impact CE’s distant learning courses are available for continuing education credit for Social Workers, as set forth by the Michigan Board of Social Work.

Half of your credit hours must be earned through live events

45 credits every 3 years by April, 30 for every licensed Master’s and Bachelor’s social worker.

5 credit hours must be earned in ethics and 2 credit hour needs to be in pain and pain symptom management. Continuing education contact hours in pain and pain symptom management may include, but are not limited to courses in behavior management, psychology of pain, behavior modification, and stress management.

22.5 CE credits may be earned through the completion of online computer programs.

A new rule was added to the Public Health Code – General Rules. The rule defines implicit bias as “an attitude or internalized stereotype that affects an individual’s
perception, action, or decision making in an unconscious manner and often contributes to unequal treatment of people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic status, age, disability, or other characteristic. Rule 338.7001©. This course may be taken live or as a recorded webinar.

Training on Implicit Bias is required as a condition for initial licensure or registration as well as license or registration renewal. This training is in addition to any continuing education training required for your profession. Unlike the human trafficking training requirement, this is not a “one time” training. Implicit Bias training is required every time you renew your license.

Impact CE, a service of CE Learning Systems, is approved to offer continuing education courses by the Association of State Social Work Boards (ASWB #1020). CE Learning Systems maintains responsibility for the courses.
