Florida Board of Physical Therapy 50-315

Our courses are not automatically approved for LPTB, members must submit their courses via application with the form on the boards website for approval(https://www.laptboard.org/assets/docs/Forms/Course_Approval_Document_Request.pdf), no courses submitted within the last 60 days of renewal will be considered

Rule §194: Biennial Requirements

Unless exempted under §198, licensees shall successfully complete document and report to the board at least 30 hours of board-approved continuing education courses or activities in the biennial renewal period. No carryover of continuing education hours from one renewal period to another shall be allowed. Continuing education will be granted in the reporting period in which the academic coursework, clinical instruction, tool, residency, or fellowship is completed.

Of the 30 hours, the following is required:

  • Ethics: a minimum of 2 CE hours
  • Clinical and/or Administrative: a minimum of 26 CE hours

Any course accepted by Louisiana Physical Therapy Board is applicable to the PT credential.

Louisiana Jurisprudence Exam

2.00 CE credit hours

A minimum of 2 contact hours is required. Attend a live seminar hosted by the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board or pass the online Jurisprudence Exam at https://www.laptboard.org/index.cfm/page/104.

We do not currently offer courses to fulfill this requirement.

Ethics

2.00 CE credit hours

A minimum of 2 contact hours covering the issues of ethics or professionalism is required.

Clinical/Administrative

26.00 CE credit hours

A minimum of 26 contact hours from Clinical and/or Administrative courses is required.
