Approval for Occupational Therapies in North Carolina

North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy CE Information

AOTA 0000000991

Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapist Assistants are both required to complete 15 CE credit hours annually.

For each renewal period, each licensee shall document completion of at least one CE hour of an ethics course related to the practice of occupational therapy. The one point may be included in the total of the required point total for the renewal period.

  • All CE courses and activities must relate to the licensee’s current or anticipated roles and responsibilities in occupational therapy and must enhance the therapist’s continuing competence.
  • CE credit hours exceeding the total needed for renewal shall not be carried forward to the next renewal period.
  • CE activities shall not include new employee orientation or annual training required by the employer.
  • Licensees shall not receive credit for the same continuing education activity more than once during a renewal period.

Licensees have to submit proof of completion of continuing competence activities and shall keep such proof for at least two (2) years and may be subject to random audits by the Board.

Ethics

1.00 CE credit hour

For each renewal period, each licensee shall document completion of at least one CE hour of an ethics course related to the practice of occupational therapy. The one point may be included in the total of the required point total for the renewal period.

We do not currently offer courses to fulfill this requirement.
Currently 11 of our courses are available for Occupational Therapies regulated by North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy. These are just a few examples!
