He draws upon his years of expertise as a practicing psychologist, administrator, researcher and technologist to help universities evaluate their programs to implement, meet, and maintain CACREP standards.

After taking this course, you should be able to:

  1. 1 Identify and describe HIPAA privacy rules and the sharing of information related to mental health.
  2. 2 Recognize and describe HIPAA Privacy Rules as they apply to public health authorities' access to protected health information.
  3. 3 Apply HIPAA Privacy Rules establishing the conditions under which protected health information may be used or disclosed by covered entities for research purpose.
  4. 4 Apply HIPAA Privacy Rules as they apply to emergancy situations, health information technology, health coverage discrimination based on genetic information, and HIPAA privacy rules regarding same-sex marriage.
