About the Course

This course presents an overview of the symptoms of COVID 19 and the course of the disease. The focus is on policies and procedures for preventing the spread of the virus while providing behavioral health services to clients. Online resources will be provided so that updated information is available as things change.

**This course is based on the article, COVID 19 Guidance for Behavioral Health Residential Facilities created by the National Council for Behavioral Health in 2020 and the webinar, Preparing Behavioral Health Organizations for Coronavirus, created by The Joint Commission in 2020. **

Sandi Cardaman is a Licensed Mental Health counselor who has been working in the field for more than 20 years. In that time she has worked as a counselor and provided supervision to interns. Sandi has worked with clients struggling with anger management, domestic violence, eating disorders and mood disorders as well as those dealing with the dependency system.

Target Audience

Counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychologists and social workers. This course is specifically focused on those who work in residential treatment facilities. This course is appropriate for all levels of knowledge.

After taking this course, you should be able to:
