About the Event

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, responsible for over 800,000 deaths annually. More than 16 million Americans have heart disease, nearly 8 million have had a heart attack, and 7 million have experienced a stroke. With a significant shortage of primary care providers, physical and occupational therapists, along with other healthcare professionals, play a vital role in screening and managing patients’ health conditions.

This live interactive course covers common cardiac pharmacology and its relevance to rehabilitation therapists across the continuum of care. It reviews basic pharmacological principles, including pharmacokinetics, with a focus on major drug classes used to treat or prevent cardiopulmonary conditions. Case examples highlight the interactions between medications and patient presentations, equipping rehabilitation therapists with the knowledge needed to make informed clinical decisions. The course emphasizes medications commonly encountered throughout the continuum of care.

Live Event This is a live online event. It will be conducted via Zoom Webinar.
