About the Event

This advanced, interdisciplinary course is designed for clinicians working in critical care settings who aim to maximize recovery for patients surviving critical illness. The live-interactive session explores the multifaceted impairments, including physical, cognitive, and psychosocial, that often persist long after ICU discharge, with a particular emphasis on the relationship between sedation practices, delirium, and long-term functional outcomes.

Participants will examine the pathophysiology and clinical presentation of Post-Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS) and review current evidence on early mobility, cognitive engagement, and structured rehabilitation interventions in the ICU. Case-based discussions will illustrate practical strategies to optimize recovery, reduce morbidity, and improve quality of life for survivors. Emphasis will be placed on collaborative, team-based approaches to care that bridge traditional discipline boundaries and integrate both patient and caregiver needs into the recovery pathway.

Live Event This is a live online event. It will be conducted via Zoom Webinar.
