About the Event

The sacroiliac (SI) joint plays a critical role in transferring load between the spine and lower extremities, yet its dysfunction is often overlooked or misdiagnosed as low back or hip pain. This live interactive webinar will explore the anatomy and biomechanics of the SI joint, highlighting how its structure and function contribute to stability and mobility within the lumbopelvic region. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the clinical presentation of SI joint dysfunction, including common referral patterns and key differentiators from other musculoskeletal conditions.

Building on this foundation, we will review evidence-based strategies for the physical management of SI joint dysfunction. Emphasis will be placed on practical examination techniques, manual therapy approaches, and targeted exercise progressions designed to restore stability and improve function. Through case examples and clinical decision-making strategies, attendees will leave with the tools to confidently identify SI joint dysfunction and implement effective, individualized treatment plans to optimize patient outcomes.

Dr. Meghan Braun, PT, DPT, MTC, CSCS, HSP

Dr. Meghan Braun is a board certified and licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Florida, specializing in sports performance and rehabilitation, injury prevention, return to play, concussion management, orthopedics, strength and conditioning, and youth movement development. She is certified in Manual Therapy (MTC), utilizing hands-on techniques including joint and soft tissue mobilization for the spine and extremities, and is also an Emergency Medical Responder, Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) promoting athletic and movement development, and a Hesch Certified Sacroiliac Practitioner (HSP).

Dr. Braun's philosophy is focused on applying treatment beyond the symptoms; by identifying the root cause of pain or discomfort, correcting movement discrepancies, and providing appropriate treatment plans with emphasis on patient education to Restore, Develop, and Strengthen functional mobility.

Dr. Braun received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine, FL, studying under Dr. Stanley Paris. She is also an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the APTA Sports Physical Therapy section, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and the US Lacrosse Association. Prior to acquiring her DPT, she completed her BA in Psychology at The University of Dallas in Irving, TX. While attending undergraduate school she played NCAA lacrosse and basketball and continues her passion of playing and coaching sports within the North Florida area and abroad.

  1. 1 Identify at least 2 common sacroiliac joint dysfunctions and their clinical presentations, including pain referral patterns and distinguishing features from lumbar spine or hip pathology.
  2. 2 Integrate clinical decision-making strategies to tailor SIJ management plans based on patient presentation, functional goals, and response to treatment.
  3. 3 Discuss multiple interventions including manual therapy, stabilization exercises, movement retraining, and patient education—for sacroiliac joint dysfunction.
  4. 4 Apply 3 occupation-based strategies—such as activity modification, postural training, and functional task practice—into the management of sacroiliac joint dysfunction.
