About the Course

The article published in the Journal of Behavioral Addictions in 2020, investigates the effectiveness of an online intervention aimed at reducing harmful gambling behaviors by enhancing analytical thinking among gamblers. The study concludes that cognitive interventions focusing on enhancing analytical thinking can be effective in modifying gambling-related beliefs and behaviors. By encouraging gamblers to critically reflect on their gambling involvement and challenge fallacious beliefs, such interventions may serve as valuable tools in promoting safer gambling practices.

This course is based on the reading online article, Training Gamblers to Re-think Their Gambling Choices created by Tess Armstrong, Ph.D. et al in 2020.
