About the Event

In this live interactive webinar, healthcare professionals will explore GLP-1–related medications used for weight management and their implications for muscle health, strength, and physical function. Participants will review FDA-approved medication options, general physiological effects, common adverse effects, precautions, and contraindications. Current evidence on body composition changes will be explored, with attention to distinguishing changes in lean body mass from changes in skeletal muscle mass, strength, and function. Practical considerations for screening, exercise programming, nutritional referral, and interdisciplinary collaboration will emphasize the healthcare professional’s role in supporting muscle health and providing safe, effective, patient-centered rehabilitation.
