About the Course

There is no substitute for seeing James Bugental in action. This program consists of two video tapes of Dr. Bugental conducting two full-length psychotherapy sessions, each followed by a panel discussion. At the end of the second session, you will see an impromptu discussion with the client. The result is a documentary that brings to life his core concepts of resistance as self-and-world-construct, the importance of therapist and client presence, and the primacy of the subjective as the proper realm for true psychotherapy.

Please Note: The two Video Tapes for this course are generally a special order item with an additional fee of $85. James Bugental has been a leading figure of Existential-Humanistic Psychotherapy since the publication of his ground-breaking book The Search for Authenticity in 1965. Since then he has produced other classics such as Psychotherapy and Process, and The Art of the Psychotherapist. His contributions have challenged and inspired the work of thousands of clinicians.
