Indiana Counselors Association on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Certification Board (ICAADA)

Addiction Consultant in Training (ACIT) is an entry level addiction treatment credential for individuals employed in the addiction treatment field, or enrolled as a college student in addiction treatment studies. This is a non-renewable credential for those pursuing CADAC. 6 hours of addiction counseling ethics and 6 hours of HIV/AIDS training are required.

Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in the social service field and/or equivalent course work, with a minimum of 15 credit hours 6 hours of addiction counseling ethics and 6 hours of HIV/AIDS training are required.

A person must hold specific license and/or credentials to meet the requirements for this credential. 30 hours of gambling specific education Two (2) hours of Financial Planning One (1) hour of Disordered Gambling 101 Twenty – Seven (27) hours of general disordered gambling specific training

Initial Five (5) hours of Counselor Development Five (5) hours of Professional and Ethical Standards Five (5) hours of Professional Development and Quality Improvement Five (5) hours of Performance Evaluation Five (5) hours of Administration Five (5) hours of Treatment Knowledge Renewal 6 hours of Supervision The six (6) hours of clinical supervision may be a part of the 40 hours obtained for the ADC, AADC, CCJP, CCDP or CCDPD recertification

• 53 hours of ICAADA approved education or training in medication assisted treatment. The only approved education for this credential is the MHAI SWD Training Institute 3-day (18 CEU) instructor led MATS course and 35-hours of self-paced distance learning (distance learning is included with purchase of instructor led course ticket). Renewal 12 hours of continuing education related to medication assisted treatment
