Alcohol And Drug Counselor (ADC)
Addiction Counselor
A minimum of 6 hours in addiction specific studies. Six (6) hours of addiction specific ethics is REQUIRED to renew. Initial - 70 credits in addiction specific content and 6 in ethics.
Advanced Alcohol And Drug Counselor (AADC)
Addiction Counselor
A minimum of 6 hours in addiction specific studies. Six (6) hours of addiction specific ethics is REQUIRED to renew. Initial-180 hours being addiction specific education with 6 hours of 180 addiction specific ethics
Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP)
Addiction Counselor
6 hours of addiction specific ethics. Initial - 70 must be specific to addiction 6 must be criminal specific ethics.
Clinical Supervisor (CS)

Six (6) of the 40 CEUs must be supervision specific. Initial- Thirty (30) hours of didactic education/training in clinical supervision. This must include education/training in each of the following five domains: Counselor Development, Professional and Ethical Standards, Program Development and Quality Assurance, Assessing counselor Competencies and Performance, and Treatment Knowledge. There must be a minimum of six (6) hours supervision in each of the five domains.
Prevention Specialist - Level 1 (PS- Level 1)

Six (6) hours of prevention specific ethics is REQUIRED to renew Initial - 300 hours prevention specific education/training
Prevention Specialist -Level 2 (PS Level 2)

Peer Recovery Substance Use Disorder (PRSS - SUD)

Peer Support Specialist
6 hours of PRSS specific ethics and continued certification in Mental Health First Aid or Taking Action
About This Approval
Our distant learning courses are available for continuing education credit for addiction counselors, as set forth by WVCBAPP.
For recertification, 6 of 40 hours must be “addiction-specific”.
For initial certification 100% of hours may be distant learning.
CACs-70/270 hours must be chemical dependency-specific and 6/270 must be ethics.
CCSs-30 hours must be in clinical supervision.
Impact CE is a service of CE Learning Systems LLC. CE Learning Systems is approved to offer continuing educations courses by NAADAC, and many ICRC certification boards. CE Learning Systems LLC maintains responsibility for the courses.
