About the Event

Concussions or Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI) is a common condition that can result from a variety of incidents such as falls, sports-related accidents, or car accidents. While mTBI is considered mild, it can still cause a range of cognitive, emotional, and physical symptoms, including visual problems. Visual issues can be particularly challenging for individuals with mTBI, as they can affect daily activities such as reading, driving, and even socializing. As a therapist, it is important to be aware of the impact of visual issues on clients with mTBI and to have the knowledge and skills to address these issues effectively.

This live interactive webinar aims to provide therapists with a comprehensive understanding of visual issues after mTBI and the tools to address them in their clinical practice. The course will cover a range of topics, including the different types of visual issues that can occur after mTBI, assessment and diagnosis of visual issues, and evidence-based interventions to improve visual functioning. Participants will also learn about the interdisciplinary approach to concussion/mTBI treatment and how to collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide the best care for clients with visual issues. Overall, this course will equip therapists with the knowledge and skills to help clients with mTBI overcome visual challenges and improve their quality of life.

Tonya Fuller, MSPT is the founder of Dynamic Mobility & Balance Center in Englewood, CO, a private practice that specializes in the treatment of neurological injuries, brain injury, and vestibular disorders. Tonya received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2001 from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, TX. She began her career at Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation in Dallas, which is where she started treating vestibular disorders in 2006. Throughout her career, Tonya has participated and assisted on various research projects and has developed and presented a multitude of lectures to physicians and peers. Tonya develops and teaches continuing education courses to physicians, colleagues, and peers on topics involving the diagnosis and treatment of neurological, vestibular, and balance disorders.
