About the Event

Do your patients present with abnormal sensations, pain, and weakness of the upper extremity (UE) related to nerve compression or entrapment syndromes? Patients commonly undergo surgery for carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel, and radial neuropathies, when a more conservative approach may be best. Current research indicates a neurodynamic approach including manual therapy and exercise may be an effective alternative to surgery, especially in the earlier stages of the disorder.

In this live interactive course, discover fast and easy methods to assess nerve entrapment syndromes. Explore neurodynamic options emphasizing manual therapy and movement to manage nerve compression to achieve positive outcomes and an improved quality of life. Distinguish between local entrapment and spinal entrapment syndromes to identify best management practices to release abnormal fascial tension that impacts the peripheral nerves. Additionally, we will discuss how to Incorporate neurodynamics into your approach to nerve entrapment of the UE.

Live Event This is a live online event. It will be conducted via Zoom Webinar.

Learning Objectives

After taking this activity, you should be able to:

  1. 1 Describe the neurodynamic approach to management of adverse neural tension syndromes in the upper extremity (UE).
  2. 2 Apply neurodynamic interventions to manage symptoms of peripheral nerve entrapment of the UE.
  3. 3 Discuss current research regarding outcomes of neurodynamics to improve mobility, ease pain and improve function in cases of UE peripheral nerve entrapment syndromes.
