About the Event

Clinical supervision is an evolving professional role that develops over time. While many supervisors receive training in models and techniques designed to support supervisee competence, fewer are taught how to understand their own development as supervisors or how their developmental stage influences their effectiveness, decision-making, and use of authority.

This training introduces key stages of supervisor development—novice, developing, and seasoned—and explores the characteristic strengths, challenges, and growth tasks associated with each phase. Participants will examine how supervisory identity evolves over time, including shifts in confidence, structure, feedback style, and capacity to navigate increasing complexity.

Through guided reflection and case-based learning, participants will identify their current stage of development and examine how their professional history and prior supervision experiences have shaped their supervisory approach. This training supports supervisors in developing greater self-awareness, responding more intentionally to supervisee needs, and strengthening supervisory effectiveness across stages of development.

Live Event This is a live online event. It will be conducted via Zoom Webinar.
