About the Event

Emotional Literacy for Professionals is a 90-minute training designed for social service, behavioral health, mental health, child welfare, education, and community-based professionals who regularly work in emotionally demanding environments.

Professionals in these fields often absorb stress from crisis work, trauma exposure, client pain, systemic barriers, workplace pressure, and community grief. Over time, this emotional load can affect communication, decision-making, empathy, boundaries, supervision, and team culture.

This training introduces emotional literacy as a practical workforce skill: the ability to notice, name, understand, regulate, and communicate emotions in ways that support ethical, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practice. Participants will explore how emotions show up in the body, how stress affects professional judgment, and how emotional awareness can help workers stay grounded without becoming detached or overwhelmed.

The session uses reflection, brief teaching, scenario-based discussion, and practical tools such as the N.A.M.E. Framework: Notice, Acknowledge, Make Meaning, Engage. Participants will leave with language and strategies they can use in client interactions, team communication, supervision, conflict, and self-care planning.

Live Event This is a live online event. It will be conducted via Zoom Webinar.
