Credentials This Covers

Every credential below carries the same requirements.

  • OT Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • OTA Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA)

Each requires 24 CE credit hours to renew.

About This Approval

Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapist Assistants must complete 24 CE hours during each 2-year license period.

  • You do not have to start working on your CE requirements until AFTER you renew your license for the first time.
  • No more than 12 CE hours will be credited in any one CE category, including Independent Learning which is what the courses on our site qualify as.

NOTE: Continuing education activities must be relevant to the licensee’s practice of occupational therapy and pertinent to the licensee’s learning plan. The Director will not pre-approve specific courses or providers. The licensee shall determine which activities and topics will meet the licensee’s Learning Plan and select appropriate courses and providers.
