About This Approval

The Board of Allied Health Professions checks the backgrounds of those seeking licensure in various health professions. These include occupational therapists and assistants, athletic trainers, and physical therapists and assistants.

The Board looks at the qualifications of applicants for licensure and grants licenses, upholding standards and rules to ensure quality and integrity for those seeking a license or grant license. The Board’s top priority is the protection of patients and consumers.

On April 29, 2022, the Board of Allied Health Professions issued regulations requiring licensees to complete continuing competence activities (i.e., continuing education) before renewal.
