Massachusetts | Physical Health | Occupational Therapists
Impact CE's distance-learning courses meet the continuing education requirements of the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health Professions (Occupational Therapy), accepted under our AOTA approval.
These hours count toward your 24 CE credit hours, but must cover specific content.
For each renewal period, each physical therapy professional's continuing education hours must include 2 hours in ethics, laws and regulations governing practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or some combination thereof.
Every credential below carries the same requirements.
Each requires 24 CE credit hours to renew.
The Board of Allied Health Professions checks the backgrounds of those seeking licensure in various health professions. These include occupational therapists and assistants, athletic trainers, and physical therapists and assistants.
The Board looks at the qualifications of applicants for licensure and grants licenses, upholding standards and rules to ensure quality and integrity for those seeking a license or grant license. The Board’s top priority is the protection of patients and consumers.
On April 29, 2022, the Board of Allied Health Professions issued regulations requiring licensees to complete continuing competence activities (i.e., continuing education) before renewal.

CE REQUIREMENTS:
Licensed occupational therapist and occupational therapy assistants are required, as a condition of license renewal, to complete a minimum of 24 hours of Board recognized activities for maintaining continuing education during the preceding biennial renewal period.
