At least 20 hours must be in AMA PRA category 1 approved activities
At least 12 credit hours shall be completed in AMA PRA Category 1 or AMA PRA Category 2 approved activities in the area of patient safety and risk management. Approved activities in the area of patient safety and risk management may include topics such as improving medical records and recordkeeping, reducing medical errors, professional conduct and ethics, improving communications, preventative medicine and healthcare quality improvement.
2 hours of education in pain management or the identification of addiction and
2 hours of education in the practices of prescribing or dispensing of opioids.
at least 2 hours of approved training in child abuse recognition and reporting

Physician Assistant

The 10-year certification maintenance process includes five two-year cycles during which all certified PAs must log 100 CME credits online and submit a $180 certification maintenance fee* by 11:59 p.m. PT, December 31 of your certification expiration year.

During each of those two-year cycles, you must earn and log at least 100 CME credits, including at least 50 Category 1 CME credits. The remaining 50 credits can be Category 1, Category 2 or a combination of both.
