Impact CE's distance-learning courses meet the continuing education requirements of the District of Columbia Board of Dentistry, accepted under our ADA CERP approval.
These hours count toward your 30 CE credit hours, but must cover specific content.
Dentistry
Dentists must complete thirty (30) hours of approved CEs: o Two (2) hours of current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification for health care providers o Two (2) hours on cultural competency or specialized clinical training on patients or clients who identify as LGBTQ o 10% (3 hours) of Public Health Priorities o One (1) hour of ethics o Two (2) hours of infection control o Eighteen (20) hours of dental-related electives in topics of your choice o Two (2) hours on the abuse and misuse of controlled substance, and opioid prescription practices for licensees who are permitted by the Drug Enforcement Agency and the District of Columbia Pharmaceutical Control Division to prescribe controlled substances in the District of Columbia
Dentistry
Dental Hygienists must complete twenty (20) hours of approved CEs to include: o Current CPR certification for healthcare providers at the basic level; o Two (2) hours on cultural competency or specialized clinical training on patients or clients who identify as LGBTQ; o 10% (2 hours) of Public Health Priorities; o One (1) hour of ethics; o Two (2) hours of infection control
Dentistry
Dental Assistants must complete ten (10) hours of approved CEs to include: o Current certification of having completed two (2) hours in basic life support (“BLS certification”); o Two (2) hours on cultural competency or specialized clinical training on patients or clients who identify as LGBTQ; o One (1) of Public Health Priorities; o One (1) hour of ethics; and o Two (2) hours of infection control o Two (2) hours of Dental Assistant related topics
